I almost didn't post this. LinkedIn shows about three lines before "β¦ more". Everything after that has to earn the click. So put the hook first: β’ say the result β’ skip the warm-up β’ make line 3 a reason to keep reading Paste your draft here and watch where the fold lands.

Select the words that matter and press B. Postfold turns them into bold letters that LinkedIn keeps when you paste, and shows the result in a feed preview. Your first 5 formats are free.

The whole post shows without "β¦ more".
How bold text works on LinkedIn
LinkedIn posts are plain text, so there is no real bold to switch on. What looks bold in the feed is a different set of characters: Unicode's Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols, which include bold versions of A to Z, a to z and 0 to 9. Postfold swaps each letter you select for its bold twin. Because they are ordinary characters, they survive copy and paste, and readers see them without installing anything.
Two kinds of bold
The B button gives sans-serif bold, which sits closest to LinkedIn's own font and blends into the post. Serif bold gives letters with serifs, which stand out more and read like a printed headline. Pick one per post: switching between the two in the same post looks accidental.
Where bold earns its place
Bold works on the few words a reader shouldn't miss: a phrase in the opening lines above "β¦ more", a short label over each part of a longer post, or the one number that carries your point. If everything is bold, nothing stands out, and a long bold paragraph is tiring to read on a phone.
Use it sparingly
Screen readers may read bold Unicode letters one at a time, announce them as maths symbols, or skip them, so a post written all in bold can be unreadable to someone who listens to LinkedIn. Search can miss them too: to LinkedIn search and to Google, a bold word is a different string from the plain one. Keep names, hashtags and links plain, and keep bold to a phrase rather than whole paragraphs.
Questions
How do I make text bold on LinkedIn?
Write or paste your post in the editor above, select the words, and press B or Ctrl+B (Cmd+B on a Mac). Then press Copy post and paste it into LinkedIn. The bold letters travel with the text.
How do I remove bold from a word?
Select it and press B again: when every letter in the selection is already bold, Postfold switches it back to plain. Clear turns any style in the selection back to plain text and doesn't use up a free format.
Will people on phones see my bold text?
Most current phones and browsers display these characters, but very old devices may show boxes instead, one more reason to bold a few words rather than whole paragraphs.
Can I bold numbers and accented letters?
Numbers 0 to 9 have bold versions, so yes. A letter with an accent, like Γ© or ΓΌ, becomes a bold letter followed by the accent as a separate mark, which most fonts place correctly. Postfold leaves other alphabets, such as Cyrillic or Greek, plain.
